My Kentucky cousins taught us how to play and I've never played it anywhere else. I've never forgotten the fun we had. The only variation we had was that you were allowed to link hands and form a chain extending from base. This was called 'electricity' and if the egg touched hands with the end person before being tagged, it was the same as reaching base.
