What’s My Name?

Thank you all so much for your wonderful birthday wishes yesterday.  Each and every one was appreciated and cherished.  You really know how to make a girl’s day when she’s home alone with two kids.  All.  Day.  Long.

Makena had a wonderful time on her first day of school.  The teacher reported that she actually barrelled over the other kids to help clean up the toys.  Now if we could only work on that at home.  When I told her that she was going to school today she replied “again?”  I think she thought it was a one time affair.  I think going twice a week is going to blow her mind.  She did request cheese in her lunch box today because all of the other kids have cheese.  Good to know.

Burp Cloths

I managed to scrounge up a picture of the burp cloths I made for my sister and a friend who is expecting.  The fabric was generously donated by my life-guru Sarah.  Because my stash is less than sufficient.  Thank you Sarah.  I owe you my first born.  They are all just so lovely and perfect.

Today, while Makena is in school I promise some crafting.  This is a pseudo craft blog after all right?!?

Something to think about.  I’m considering changing my name.  I’m just not feeling the chikaustin so much anymore.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I’ve been spinning this around in my head and am not getting anywhere.  I would love some suggestions from you crafty types!

I have only met you or I`d be more than happy to offer name suggestions :) However, I just came across your blog and I have to say that I totally envy your crafting skills now! My son is just now 9 months, but as soon as he`s a little bigger I might try my hand at sewing. Loved your burp cloths..I would love to show then in one of my upcoming posts on my blog. “Bishop`s Room” http://www.bmommy1.blogspot.com

(The post will probably be about how I can`t sew, though.)

I’ve got nothing. I live so far below your level of creativity, you know… though I’d miss chikaustin. :(

Ah, the black art of blog naming… I have no miracle name for you (chased my own around for weeks before I got it pinned down), but whatever you opt for, make sure you google it first!

I’m glad you had a nice birthday! I’m terrible at coming up with names, but wish you the best of luck coming up with one you really love.

I loved my home enhanced burp clothes back in the day…. cute material.

That’s so cute that Makena thought her one day of school was it - I’ve done “school”, now what!?

the blog name, hard one. i had only read one blog, my friend’s blog, when i decided to start my own. must have been a sunday and i had a prairie home companion on the brain. in hindsight i wish i had used an original phrase my kids had uttered; for example, “too much”, which is how old aidan said he was when he was two. do some brainstorming and have fun!

how about “cactus pie” or some other something that suggests making lemonade outta lemons.

what about SPARTACUS!? I have been trying to get someone to use that name for anything the past few years. no luck yet though.

I have been out of the loop for awhile….but I am back.

Not sure if I can offer much help but I will try. I have writer’s block bad!

I am pretty good at this name thing normally….I need more to go on. Like: silly facts and things you like….email me. Maybe I can help…
