Today I’m on a carousel going round and round and round again.  Making loops through the house.  Making piles.

Getting ready for our 2 am departure in just a few hours.

7::365

I planned to take that great ‘goodbye’ shot with our luggage in the back of the car.  But it seems that the luggage won’t get loaded until later tonight since I’m still doing laundry.  So here’s ya a shot of my pile of laundry that needs to be packed.  Exciting huh?!?

I’m participating in a 365 on flickr, taking pictures of my daily life.  This laundry shot is day 7.  Woohoo!  Seven days down and 358 to go.  I hope to get a link up in my sidebar soon.  As soon as my techie husband gets around to it.

The kids are getting really excited.  Thanks to all of your wonderful suggestions, they’ve packed their own toy/activity bags.  Makena’s bag consists of princesses, art supplies and a princess dress up outfit.  And let’s not forget the princess shoes.  Keegan’s bag is full of cars.  I’ve got that special toy for hide-n-seek in the car and the aluminum foil for sculptures.

I’m working on downloading some more music on itunes.  Then going to thumb through some of my photography books to get some ideas for shooting new places and the Americana roadside.  Oh yes, and then get those clothes into my bag.

We’ve got the iphone loaded with everything from Johnny Cash to Fergie.  You never know what you’ll be in the mood for.

See ya soon!

    You probably won’t read this before you leave, but I’m going to leave the comment anyway.
    Music – yes good idea to take lots of different sorts, and not just kid stuff. A few that are fun for adults and kids are: (http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-My-Little-Bird/dp/B000GKZN9M/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1P1K8FJTLJJKI&colid=SG58IG6TF2HN) anything by Elizabeth Mitchell and (http://www.amazon.com/Putumayo-Kids-Presents-Folk-Playground/dp/B000EZ918S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1231549739&sr=1-3) any of the Putumayo kids cds are fun. (Late notice, I know.)
    Also, little things like having a rubbish bag for each kid/person, and also a damp washer, so they can keep cool and clean. And make sure you have lots of water to drink – buying water is so expensive (and think of all those plastic bottles!). You might see some Sigg bottles on your travels, these are really great. Keep water cool, and have so many designs. Our kids have one each.

    Have lots of fun, I’ll be needing some car-travel tips when you get back, as we are planning on going on a driving trip in March.
    Take care, E xx

    I’m so happy that you are doing a 365. It’s so much fun (well, most of the time!). I started my second one today with the new camera. Not too bad but it’s difficult to adapt to a new toy. If you ever want to do a photo challenge (like a week of composition or mornings or crafts or macro…) just let me know. We all need a little but if inspiration!

    Have a lovely trip and take care xox

    Hope all that laundry fit in the suitcases and then suitcases into the back of the car smoothly…and that the trip was a delight! See you when you’re back.
