We have a squirrel that torments us.  You see we have a metal roof on our house and daily, if not hourly, he goes scampering across the roof.  From one end of the house to another.  And it makes this awful ‘the sky is falling’ kind of noise.

Meet Charlie.  Makena’s name for all of her dolls, stuffed animals and wildlife that surrounds our house.

We put up this bird feeder last weekend right outside of my kitchen window.  For the first few days it was quite comical watching him trying to find a way onto the bird feeder.  He would hang from the roof.  He would try to jump up from the railing.  He was then trying to scale the side of the house and jump on.  Funny little fella.

It was hard not to watch him and laugh.  Persistent little guy had made up his mind on what he wanted and nothing was going to stop him.  Sound familiar?  Charlie is not so much unlike all of us.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.  Remember to take some time for yourself and if at once you don’t succeed, keep scampering.

He’s a cute little fellow! You should see the squirrel in my parents garden that launches itself from the clothes pole half way along the washing line in one flying leap to reach the bird feeder….

Thank goodness he is outside. We had one inside a few years ago and it was no fun!

I *love* this photo … even if it is a wily rodent.

Ugh, I don’t trust squirrels. I think they’re all crazy and suspect they will attack at the slightest provocation, so I give them plenty of space when I come across ‘em. Plus they dig up my plants which is a huge no-no. My crazy squirrel rant (plus squirrel-proof bird feeder video):

Every house we have ever lived in we’ve had some kind of varmit making his way in. Bats (2 different houses), a bird down the chimney (right when we had just lit a fire), squirrels in our attic, and tooo many mice to count. We are due for some activity soon … don’t send that Texas squirrel north! he he

Aww, we have a “Grady” squirrel at our house that is tormenting the dog and cats. Get a squirrel feeder. It is fun to watch them lift the little lid and take out a treat. That’s what I did when we finally gave in to the squirrel demands. I’m sure our birds appreciated it too! How fun! Great picture too!
