Boy oh boy, what a weekend. It was one of those weekends where we had no plans, no scheduled activities but our time seemed to fill up fast. I started off Friday on Etsy. That’s a dangerous place to be my friends. I accomplished some fabric shopping and other goodies for the kids room and nursery. Then I hit the streets and went to some South Austin thrift stores and found a few fun things for the kid’s rooms. I got up early on Saturday morning to hit up some local garage sales and found a beautiful antique dresser, for $20, to go into the kids new shared room. It’s tall, on wheels with a titled beveled mirror. All it needs is a good coat of white paint and new hardware and it’s ready to go.
We’ve already begun the great migration of moving the kids things from one room to another. We moved all of Keegan’s furniture out of his room into Makena’s. Last night was their first night sharing a room and I just sat outside their door and listened to them talk before they fell asleep. Makena telling Keegan “don’t be scared, I’m in here with you.” Keegan telling Makena “i’ve got a baby in my tummy.” I love their chatter.
So yesterday we got the nursery painted and furniture all moved into the room. Don’t worry, I was the supervisor. It’s now nice to have a staging area as we begin to go through the old baby stuff and see what we have and what we need. I wasn’t able to keep any of Makena’s baby clothes as she spit up on everything. We do have all of the gear, some necessary and much of it unnecessary, so we are in the process of cleaning some of that stuff out.
I’ll give you a sneak peak later this week of some of the items going into the nursery. I love the way it’s coming together and can’t wait to show you the finished product. Then we’ll tackle the kids room.
Today I’m working on Craft Hope, we have 150 dolls so far! What a blessing.
This week I’m waiting on my Etsy purchases to arrive. Catching up on this book. And going to make this cake.
