etsy love

Posted in: mama life

Today we got another glimpse inside to see our baby girl growing and growing.  They wanted to do another sonogram because she was in a wonky position last time and couldn’t see all of her parts.  This time was a success.  She’s now head down, growing like a weed and has the kung fu punch of a ninja.

The nursery is now painted and the furniture is all set up.  I’m now working on the decorating part.  Selecting prints and art for the wall.  Making impromptu trips to Ikea for cheap curtains.  And staring at the perfect glider online that I never had with the other two.  A place to feed and rock my bebe.  Also a place to hold all three kids.  THREE KIDS!  And read books.

abc print

I decided that I wanted an ABC print for the baby’s room after oogling several nurserys on Ohdeedoh.  I searched and searched on ETSY until I found the perfect one.  I fell in love with this design with all of the animals.  You can custom choose your size and colors.  And Erin is wonderful to work with!  Such a sweetheart.  Check out her shop.

A few more things on ETSY that make my heart go pitter patter.  I *heart* etsy.  I really do.  Now I’m thinking to myself… if I share these with you, you might buy them.  Please.  Don’t.  Do.  That.  They are mine.  Please.  Or… buy them for me?  Please.

“Please don’t buy them.” Ha, ha! That made me laugh! I feel the same way. I am totally obsessed with the mustaches–I’ve made my own, posted about them, I force everyone who comes to my house to pose with one–I even posted today with a download the owners of the shop did so you can make your own out of paper. See?…obsessed…

I love your blog. Love it.

Congrats on your little tiny one, and the lovely nursery! :o )

Difficult, difficult. This must be a dillema for you. Wanting to share the love for etsy, but knowing that you encourage people to take a look for themselves. And you did. Encourage me. Your writing about it is contagious. So now I have to take a look. It’s your own fault. You just shouldn’t have made this blog so nice to read. But I promise: I won’t buy the things you mentioned here. Is that a reassurance? ;-)

karin – i know, i know… i wanted to share some of my favorite things with you and as i was copying the pictures it hit me… people might buy these. gasp!

amy – my hubby is on the way home with a new printer cartridge just so i can do that! i certainly can’t afford the ones on etsy. :(

Haha – I laughed about the Etsy dilemma as well. I think about it too. Of course I drool much more than I actually buy anything on there but maybe with this baby I’ll be able to decorate the nursery with some cute Etsy finds – I promise I won’t buy your favorites. :)
Oh, and how lucky for you that your mom had all those quilts! My mother just gave me a baby blanket that her mother made her and it’s darling. It’s made out of their old clothes! So sweet. I agree, handmade is so special and lovely.

Love them all! The little shoes are my favourite. I love the picture too though and think it will look great on a little one’s bedroom wall!
