weekend recap

Posted in: crafting

Thank you all so much for the well wishes on the book.  We are moving along and I can’t wait to share with you what it’s all about.  It’s going to be a beautifully designed book that will let you carry on Craft Hope in your own home and around the world.

This weekend was pretty low key since it’s still 106 degrees outside.  I spent a good portion of the weekend working on the book.  Doing laundry.  Cleaning out.  And cleaning up.

I did manage to sneak in some late night sewing.  A good bloggy friend of mine just had a sweet baby girl so I whipped up this soft baby blanket for her.  But don’t tell her.  Shhhh… It’s a secret.  Hopefully that newborn will keep her hands full so she won’t be able to check the blogs.  Just for a couple of days until the package arrives.

This week I’ve got absolutely nothing scheduled.  Still dreaming about my beach trip and hoping to go in July.  It looks like it’s going to be a good week to stay home and sew.  I need to make Makena some new summer nightgowns.  And I’d like to start on a few things for my bebe.  A good nesting week indeed.

    Hi!
I just found your blog by complete accident but I really am glad I did! I live in San Antonio, really not very far from you and I’ve been calling it “aka the surface of the sun” lately. I’ve been so inspired by your description of Crafty Hope and I want to help, but I have to get my schedule figured out first. Keep writing, your blog is awesome and congrats on the book deal!! That is sooo exciting! I am totally adding you to my favorites.

The blanket is beautiful! I can’t believe you can just rustle something so pretty up in a weekend. I really must master my sewing machine!

As I said before, the rest of the UK is basking in a heatwave – 90 degrees in London, 75 in Glasgow and here on the east coast of Scotland we had about 64 degrees today and the sea fog finally cleared about 3pm…..I too am looking forward to my beach holiday this year but for completely different reasons! I want some heat!! I want to swim in the sea because it’s warm. I am off to Greece for a friends wedding this September and a couple of us are going to one of the islands after the wedding in Athens= will be staying here http://www.nefeli.eu on the island of Hydra. Can’t wait!!
