A few of you asked about the kids name art hanging above their beds. So I took some close up shots to give you an idea of what all they entail.

My friend that makes these is incredibly talented, she really should open an Etsy shop.  At around their first year she asked me for a list of the highlights. From where we lived, travels, birth information, to personality traits, and so on. I then selected a theme. For Keegan’s I went with cowboy, since we live in Texas. And for Makena I went with the fairy. She’s always been a flighty little thing and was a fairy for her first Halloween.

I believe that she gets the frames at Michaels. I think these are just the most perfect ways to capture your child’s first year and also something for them to look back on. Also, a great way to share memories with your child. Those special moments that seem to go so fast.

Speaking of special moments, what do you all use for baby books? In the past I used the store bought variety, but was curious if there was something new out there I was missing. Maybe an online program or a favorite baby book you’ve found some place? I’d love to hear what you use.

    Those really are cute.

Baby book? What’s a baby book? I am a bad mother. I have cds of photos and a box of the doctor visit reports, etc. I still haven’t done baby books and I’m guessing that since Lindsay is nearly 19, I probably won’t. :)

Jade, I’m with Sarah… no baby books either! The only thing I do have is 1 book, a simple little spiral bound journal that I give to my MIL the morning each child has been born. She is a wonderful recorder of events and in it she has recorded the days events, who was there, what the weather was like, what was happening in the news, and then once baby comes she writes down what the baby looks like, all the stats, the baby’s name and it’s meaning/significance, etc. It’s a WONDERFUL treasure and I love that it’s all recorded in one simple journal. And all I have to do is turn a page or two and there’s the next child’s record of birth! It’s fun… you should assign somone that job! Even if you haven’t done it before. I also have a USA Today from the day of each of their births!

Love the name art… very funky and memorable!!

I think that artwork is absolutely fantastic — so special!

Yeah. You’re assuming that I’ve actually completed (or, for that matter, started) a baby book for at least one of the kids. It’s on my to-do list. But a little further up the list is something a little more manageable (in theory, seeing as how I haven’t done one of these either!). It’s this clipboard idea that I saw in Wondertime; here’s the link, in case you’ve not seen it:

Who needs a baby book when you have the wall art!!! I think it is perfect and complete, unlike my baby books for all the kids!!!
