Sorry about the brief break in postings. I don’t have a very good excuse other than that I am officially nine months pregnant and am using all of my free time for naps. I’m not sleeping well at night. My belly is poking out from under most of my maternity tops. And I’ve been downright grumpy for a few days now. We do have a c-section scheduled for September 29th so at least I’ll have a sweet baby in my arms next month.

The house is quiet. My hubby has taken the kids to the park so I can have some writing time and the best way for me to find my writing mojo is to write up a blog post so here goes. Although, this one is going to be pretty picture heavy.

Without further ado, here is Chloe’s nursery…

quiet please

The crib is the Jenny Lind style purchased for Makena when Keegan was born. Yup, I had two in cribs at the same time. The decals and wall art are from Etsy. The vintage mobile was found at a garage sale. I picked up inexpensive white bedding here and there. And I made the little pillow and quilt using my favorite Amy Butler fabrics. We decided to paint the bedroom an aqua color and go with the red accents. Makena’s nursery was pink, pink, and more pink and I’m a bit pinked out.

Amy Butler fabric makes my heart swoon.

the nursery

I found the letter C at Hobby Lobby and spray painted it red. The ABC print is from Etsy. And I picked some of the fabric from her quilt to display in the hoops. The dresser and bookshelf were purchased for Makena about two years ago at Target.

Most of the decorations on her bookshelf are vintage. The owl bank was found at Target.

block and ball

My really sweet blog friend, Rebekah, made this coordinating block and ball set for my soon to arrive baby. She has mad skills.

I found a ton of inspiration on Ohdeedoh, flickr, and Etsy. Also, while perusing other blogs looking at nurseries. I’ll take another picture of the other side of the room when the light is cooperating.

This place on the web may become a little picture heavy until the baby and book deadline arrives. At the same time!

    Dear Chloe,
Please tell your mom that no one should be this creative when nine months pregnant. Oh, and tell her how sickening it is to all of us that she found such a PRECIOUS mobile at a GARAGE SALE! I mean, seriously, Chloe . . . who would give that up for 50 cents? It’s amazing. Amy Butler fabric in hoops, used as wall hangings . . . sweet heaven!

    Signed,
    Your mom’s friend, Rebekah

P.S. Come soon, okay? September in TX nine mos. pregs–NOT. FUN.

Hey Jade, it looks just wonderful. I can only hope to give my future children a warm, inviting, light and bright environment as you have…you have such an eye for details, without going over the top! I would love to send you a Sock Monkey for Makena, Keegan and Chloe….just let me know your postal address!
Thanks for sharing and continuing to be such an inspiration, jx

You know I love this. And we just finished painting out little bug’s room a *very* similar shade over the weekend, of course.

That vintage mobile? I’m really obsessing about that now.

Take care and rest, honey. That 9th month is still pretty fresh in my mind… I’m glad you are napping and resting when you can. xoxoxo

    Love it! very sweet!
I have to tell you, I scrounged up some AB Morning Glory Linen and Wallflower from Etsy when I saw your post hinting about your projects for the nursery. For some reason, I never jump on a fabric until it starts to get a little hard to find–which is a bit of a problem! :)

  • Comment by Amanda — September 9, 2009 @ 11:52 am

I love this room. It’s wonderful – cute enough for a baby but grown up enough for when she is a bit older.

I’m trying to walk that traditional furniture/modern fabrics line too, and you did a great job! Thanks for some extra inspiration!

Hi! I just saw your awesome nursery on Ohdeeoh! And I do adore it!

I think we are craft soul mates because I just finished my baby’s nursery in aqua with red accents. With a Jenny Lind bed, and a vintage irmi mobile to boot. As well as the vintage Fisher Price clock and russian stacking dolls!

What can I say, great minds think alike!

I came for the nursery, but am staying for all of your good crafty posts. Thanks for the inspiration/commraderie!

Oh, I love this room! And I third the question of the paint color!!!

  • Comment by chikaustin — October 20, 2009 @ 3:35 pm

Thanks so much! I can’t wait for her to actually spend time in there. Right now she’s with me in my room. :)

The paint is Behr (Home Depot) 500A-2 Refreshing Pool. It really is a nice color and I’m tempted to keep going into other rooms with it!
