The baby is coming tomorrow and I’ve got so much nervous energy that my house is completely organized and clean. I came to the realization today that it is how I handle stress, it’s the one thing I can control.

So I stayed up last night making the one last item that was on my to make for baby list. Since my diaper bag is not a traditional diaper bag it didn’t come with a changing pad. So I went through my stash of fabric, found some of my favorite Amy Butler Fabric (August Fields), and went to work. I even added velcro on the strap to keep it closed. As usual, no pattern, no instructions, just pure impulsivity. By this time you must know this is how I roll.

Tonight my family is all coming out to our house for dinner. It feels like a ceremonial rite of passage, the coming together of four generations to celebrate the birth of the newest family member. And tomorrow the baby will be delivered via c-section. So, of course if you are of the praying type I am asking for a few prayers for all of us. And I promise to post pictures as soon as possible.

Congratulations in advance–I hope you can sleep tonight what with all the excitement coming your way tomorrow! I love that fabric and had hoped to use all the aqua, yellow and brown august fields patterns in my older daughter’s big girl room…we have had to change plans to save money and seeing your beautiful creation makes me miss what could have been! If you ever get around to writing a tutorial on the diaper changing pad, I’d love to try it out! Congrats again and prayers your way!

Sending positive thoughts for the arrival of your little one. It’s really odd waiting for the section isn’t it, knowing that soon you’ll see the most lovely little face.

Thinking about you on this special day! Hope that lucky babe has a smooth entry into the world and that you all have a gentle recovery together. As a two-time c-sectioner, I know just how much tenderness and support you’ll be needing… sounds like you have a wonderful family and community to give you all that you deserve. Lots of love to you, Jade!

Hi! I was looking online for a checkerboard rug for my kitchen and ended up in your site. I cannot believe I spent around an hour watching your pictures. You are an artist! Well, my sister is a photographer in case you are interested in her work here is her site: mariagabrielagonzalez.com

I am originally from Venezuela and lived 10 years in Minnesota. I recently moved to Atlanta…and need a kitchen rug. I have two girls, 4 and 2 yrs old. My 2 yrs old was a C-section and everything went well. Hopefully, that will be your case. And I am so tired right now that cannot think in English anymore.

Well it was great being at your site. Best wishes for you and your baby,

    Mariela

PS: I play the piano too, it looks a lot like yours.

    Hey,
I keep checking back every day, hoping to see pictures of Chloe! Although, I should expect that the blog will be pretty quiet for awhile until things settle down at your house. Enjoy the time and congrats and we’ll be here when you get back!!
