God has quite the sense of humor and his timing is not always in line with my timing. Hey, whose in charge here? Wait, I know that answer.

So let me tell you a quick story while Chloe waits patiently. I’ve got about two minutes before she insists that I wear her for the rest of the day.

Ready, set, go!

Long story short we had to get new carpet in the bedrooms and hallways. Septic issue that happened the day after we came home with Chloe from the hospital, I’ll save you the details. So the carpet guys came yesterday to install the carpet. And let me tell you that it’s not easy to do my mama duties with carpet guys in the house. Everything from every closet and bedroom was either moved out onto the decks or into bathrooms and my laundry room. Last night we were able to get the furniture back in the house, but the rest of it had to wait. The kids bathroom, my bathroom, and the laundry room are full. Piles stacked high from floor to ceiling.

About 3 am last night we hear the pitter patter of tiny footsteps. Followed by Makena’s voice ‘mama, I threw up in my bed.’ My hubby and I rushed downstairs to clean up the situation, but I could not get into their bathroom or the laundry room. 3 am is also when Chloe wakes up for her nighttime play date.

So today I’m accepting applications for a baby holder. Just so I can make my way to the washing machine.

I could wear her at work – might be a good way to getting out of a few meetings!

Oh dear Jade, hang in there, this will pass, I promise :-) And I would be happy to help you out, if there wasn’t the little issue of living on the other side of the world, that is. Goodluck with all the furniture moving. And remember THE mantra: “This phase will pass” :-D

You live in Texas don’t you? I could road trip it for a day of wearing Chloe. Although I imaging you need a bit more help then just wearing the baby. =)

My grandma used to leave my mum, as a teeny tiny little baby, in her pram (one of those old fashioned ones, I’m imagining), out at the bottom of the garden. She couldn’t hear her cries, so she assures us all that my mum was happy lying there watching the leaves flutter in the tree above her – perhaps she was. I’m sure my grandma was either inside doing her laundry or…… sitting reading magazines and dreaming of her days before children.
Ignore the laundry, call in a cleaner for the day – and go and spend those tiny moments with your babes. Or better still, a cleaner and a baby sitter and go and spend the day all on your own! (dreams get us through the day, don’t they).
Take care, and rest well (even if only for brief moments).

YIKES! I hope that the little one feels better today and that you can get some baby free time to get done what needs to be.

I love to hear other “mom” stories. It sounds like you’ve got your hands full at the moment. Hopefully things are better by now.
