I think it sounds fabulous. I love the simple life. That is the way we try to live even in the 'burbs. It's the only way to go. Life just flies past me when I am on the go constantly. My daughter has inherited my love for being home and never wants to leave. I get a little concerned about that...hmmm...anyway, thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Enjoy. It sounds like you guys definitely made a good choice!

Thanks for linking to my posts, because I'm so glad it led me here. I love looking through your blog, because first of all, who doesn't know about Craft Hope? But also because I would love to live in the Texas Hill Country and we are seriously considering it. The photo with your kids in the wagon is what I want too. Lovely.

Jade, being reminded that the way we live is a choice is very good for me. I need to know others are simplifying, focusing and choosing purposefully how they are going to live.

This past year or so has been a time of re-focusing on the well being of my husband and I and letting go of some of my concern of achievement outside my home and family. The change is wonderful. Thank you for continuing to share your choices and intentions.

I love my quiet life as well. Our quiet life is different because we're living in the UK (I'm American), but we are lucky enough to have a farm at the end of the road instead of a lake and no neighbors behind our house - just farm fields. The kids love it too.

This is sort of very much what we have been talking about for a long while, but we're having such a hard time figuring out just what it is we want. We live in a south Austin suburb, minutes from the grandparents and best friends, but we feel like we're in-between where we want to BE. We want more land, nature and quiet, space to create and play. We want our kids to be able to play happily with each other, without wanting more (stuff or friends). But a part of us also really wants to be able to utilize the city and the parks just with a quick stroll down the street. An urban artsy life complete with two cute little boys and a dog.

Do we move out towards the country or in towards the city? We're working on finding our answer. I'll let you know if we ever do.

This is a beautiful thought - I really like what you are saying. We all need to slow down and GO less!
